The Best Z-Wave Leak Sensor on the Market

Keep Your Home Leak Free with Dome’s Sensors

Getting started with a smart home system is an exciting process. You get to pick out different smart devices to control, and with Z-Wave technology to ensure smooth communication across devices, the sky is the limit for what you can upgrade throughout your home! One popular starter device is the smart water leak sensor. Below, we cover the best option on the market today: the Dome leak sensor.

Why Dome?

There are a lot of great leak sensors out there, so why should you choose this one? Here are a few of the features that make Dome’s leak sensor a great option for any smart home system:

The Dome leak sensor has a range of up to 150 feet, so you’ll have no problem placing it in remote areas and still having a reliable connection to your hub.

Battery Life:

Forget having to swap batteries out every six months. The Dome leak sensor has a battery life of three years! It’s designed to use very little energy.

Mounting Options:

Sometimes it doesn’t make sense to place the leak sensor on the ground. When you want to mount it on the wall, the side of an appliance, underneath an appliance, etc., you can do so easily. The leak sensor comes with mounting hardware that cradles the sensor wherever you place it, allowing you to attach a remote lead sensor.

Low Profile:

Sometimes, the places where you most need leak sensors don’t leave a lot of room for devices. Take underneath or behind a washing machine, for example. The Dome leak sensor has an incredibly low profile for this reason. It’s 2.6 inches wide, and just .92 inches in height. So you can slip the device underneath your refrigerator with ease.

Remote Lead Sensor:

For areas where you need an even smaller sensor, you can use the remote lead cord that attaches to the main leak sensor. The lead sensor is double-sided, so you never have to struggle to get it facing the right way. This is useful for monitoring hard-to-reach areas such as behind refrigerators or in sump pump pits. For example, you could attach the sensor to the wall above the pit, then drop the lead cord into the pit. The sensor will notify you if the pit starts overflowing.

LED Light and Sound Indicator:

While the sensor will always notify you via the smart hub, it also has a beeper and small LED light on top of it that will flash and make noise to alert you of the leak. The light will also flash when you successfully connect it to your hub or the battery is low.

As counter-intuitive as it may seem, many leak sensors aren’t actually water-resistant. That means you can only use them one time. The Dome sensor is resistant to water, so even if your leaky basement floods five times, you can still use the same device.

Simple Setup:

When you’re ready to add the leak sensor to your system, simply bring the device within 10 feet of the hub, press the connect button three times, and the LED light will flash five times to show that it has connected. We have a whole support site dedicated to helpful how-to’s and integration guides for each main hub brand, such as Wink and SmartThings, so you can rest assured that your leak sensors will be up and running in no time.

Dome products work with more than one system, of course. Smart homes operated by Vera, SmartThings, Control4, Logitech Harmony, and more can all take advantage of our devices.

Every smart Z-Wave device from Dome has been built to be incredibly user-friendly and high-quality. Give our leak sensors a try today! You won’t be disappointed.
